About us and how we work

New in Varna helps newcomers, students and remote workers settle in Varna; for legal or medical matters it links to official sources and gives no advice of its own. It is one of five Varna websites made by the same small editorial team, in six languages, for locals, visitors and newcomers.

What New in Varna covers

New in Varna is for people moving to Varna – EU citizens and people from outside the EU, students and remote workers. It follows the order in which things usually happen: finding a flat, registering your address and residence, health insurance and a GP, banking and taxes, work and study, schools and kindergartens, and finding a community.

Guides explain the steps and point to the office that handles each one, so you know where to go and what to ask.

How New in Varna checks rules and procedures

Rules on residence, taxes, health insurance and work change, and they differ by nationality. We base each guide on the official source – the migration authorities, the National Revenue Agency, the National Health Insurance Fund, the municipality or the ministry concerned – and link it, so you can check the current version yourself.

New in Varna does not give legal, tax, medical or financial advice. Our pages explain how procedures generally work; for your own case, the official office or a qualified professional has the final word.

What is automated on New in Varna

Relocation guides are never published automatically: anything our software proposes for this site waits for an editor’s approval.

Automation is limited to the euro exchange rates, the public holiday calendar and the weather and warning panels, taken from the public data sources listed below.

One team, five sites

Varna Pulse (news), Varna Now (events and places), Varna Daily (everyday life), Varna Guide (visitor guide) and New in Varna (moving to Varna) are run by one small editorial team. They are not separate publishers: all five follow the same editorial rules, the same checking method and the same corrections process, and each site covers a different need.

We do not accept payment for listings or coverage, and no place on our lists has paid to be included.

How we use AI

AI tools help us monitor sources, draft summaries and translate pages into six languages. Editors set the rules and review sensitive topics; the section above says which pages on this site are published without an editor reading them first.

Images marked “AI-generated illustration” are not photos of the real place or event. “What people say” sections paraphrase recurring public opinions; we never invent quotes, reviews or ratings.

Corrections

If something is wrong, out of date or a place has closed, we check it and correct it. Every page shows when it was published and, when its facts changed, when it was last updated; real corrections are noted on the page itself.

A contact address for corrections will be published here before the sites go live.

Data sources

Live and daily data on our sites comes from these public sources. We show short facts with a link to the original and credit every source next to its widget.
